There is no easier way to produce data for your applications and data bases than with our web based data generator.
This application lets you quickly generate custom data in a variety of formats for use in testing software, and populating database tables. Click on the Free Data link at the top or bottom navigation area of this web page to view our free data application web page.
When the application page is displayed read the two notes (with an Aqua background color) to get you started. If you need more help click on the Help Topics command and read the Quick Start topic to become acquainted with our applications's user interface. The following comments provide a brief overview of what is contained in the application web page that will be displayed when you click on the Free Data link.
There are many options for selecting data types such as: names, phone numbers, email addresses, cities, states, zip codes, dates, times, street addresses, number ranges, alphanumeric strings and more. Each data type has a default set of Data Generation Parameters associated with it that allow you to specify the length of the data, the upper and lower limit of values, and for numbers the number of decimal places that you want to see.
Feel free to play around by selecting several data types from our lists. They will appear in a list box in the middle left hand portion of the screen. If you select an item in that list the system displays the default data generation parameters for the selection in the column labeled "Data Generation Parameters".
Experiment by changing the default parameters and click on the Save Parameters button and then click on the Field Test button. That will generate data only for the selected data type so you can immediately see the data that will be generated using the data generation parameters. Hover your mouse cursor over the command buttons and help hints will be displayed. Most of the command buttons (like the move and remove buttons) work on the currently selected field).
There are options to generate data in XML, Excel, HTML, or CSV formats and you may also edit the generated data before you save it (check the Output Window Option if you want any output other than CSV format). You will be pleasantly surprised how fast you can populate your database tables with a few clicks of your mouse.
